Meet the team behind TouchWind — a passionate group of experts dedicated to bringing wind innovation to life. With strong backgrounds in engineering, design, finance, and R&D, we are united by one goal: to deliver clean, affordable wind energy to the world.
Rikus founded TouchWind in 2018 after more than 40 years in wind and offshore technology. A Delft-trained aerospace engineer, serial entrepreneur, and inventor, he has a track record of turning bold ideas into practical innovations. At TouchWind, he combines creativity with deep technical expertise to pioneer floating wind solutions that can transform offshore energy.
Arne is a mechanical engineer with more than a decade of experience in offshore technology. Earlier in his career at Wärtsilä, he worked on propeller design and product development, experience that strengthens TouchWind’s offshore engineering capabilities. At TouchWind, Arne is a project manager and lead engineer, playing a key role in scaling up the company. He also manages our mobile turbines project for on- and offshore applications, complementing our core focus on floating wind.
As Chief Commercial Officer, Dick leads TouchWind’s commercial strategy.
With a strong commercial mindset and a focus on long-term collaboration, Dick works closely with customers, investors, and industry partners to bridge innovative technology with real-world market needs.
Tim has more than 25 years of financial leadership experience across corporates and scale-ups. With an Executive MBA from Nyenrode Business University, he has guided companies through investment rounds, international expansion, and operational restructuring. At TouchWind, Tim builds the financial foundation that supports innovation and long-term growth.
Dirk brings over 15 years of experience in offshore wind, spanning engineering, business development, and strategic partnerships. Trained in business administration at RSM Erasmus University, he bridges the gap between technical insight and commercial growth. Alongside his role at TouchWind, he works with Enersea as a consultant, strengthening our industry connections. At TouchWind, Dirk drives the scale-up of floating wind projects and ensures our innovations meet market needs.
Erik is a seasoned mechanical engineer and product designer with over 17 years of experience across renewables, medical devices, and automotive. His multidisciplinary expertise helps ensure TouchWind’s turbine designs are robust, efficient, and future-ready. At TouchWind, he focuses on system architecture while fostering a culture of engineering excellence.
Maurice has a background in materials science and broad experience in R&D, having worked at TNO, Philips, and Signify, as well as two start-ups as founder and interim CTO. With a focus on early-stage development, he has guided projects from concept through to market introduction. At TouchWind, Maurice supports business development, helping identify new opportunities and partnerships.
Abe joined TouchWind in 2024 after graduating Cum Laude in Mechanical Engineering from TU Eindhoven. His work combines structural and aerodynamic development, ranging from CAD design and FEM analysis to performance simulations. At TouchWind, he strengthens the design of floating turbines with a focus on aerodynamics and mechanical reliability.
Bram holds a Master’s in Automotive Engineering from TU Eindhoven and started his career at DAF as an engine calibration engineer. He joined TouchWind in 2024 and has since developed measurement and electrical systems for the POWER project. He leads testing and troubleshooting at our test setups in Oostvoorne, ensuring accurate performance data.
Remy holds a BSc in Mechatronics Engineering from Fontys University of Applied Sciences. Before joining TouchWind in 2025, he worked as a controls project engineer where he designed and commissioned large-scale automation systems worldwide. At TouchWind, Remy develops and integrates electrical systems for floating wind turbines, ensuring reliable performance in offshore environments.
Peet brings over 40 years of experience as a tax advisor and financial specialist, including more than 25 years at Flynth. He supports TouchWind with financial administration and compliance, ensuring transparency, accurate reporting, and efficient processes. His expertise helps strengthen the company’s financial operations as we grow.
Pim brings over 40 years of industry experience and has been involved with TouchWind since its founding.
